Hi, and I'll thank everyone for their comments first. I am trying to fit a pair of Elkay 760A-1 switches in place of the standard 1 gang (upstairs) and 2 gang (downstairs) switches.

The downstairs 2 gang is connected via a live crossover jumper? so that it acts as an individual light downstairs. I want to remove the jumper wire and as so join the downstair light with the upstairs light. so they both come on together from 2 way switches. If you get my jist.

Now ill post the photos of the boxes and the photos of the install diagram so someone can re assure me.

Again thanks for any advice

the switches to be installed are diagrammed on the PDF

EDIT. ACTUALLY YOU CAN'T DO IT
You only have 2 wires between the switches and it appears all 3 are needed in your case

Down stairs fit both blacks to the middle terminal.

The live com wire to Live.

Upstairs connect the red com wire and black wire to middle terminal.

Use the last red to take the wire upstairs

You will have to do without the led wire

Can it not be done at all? Because it says on their website that the switches I have are for 2 way. http://www.free-instruction-manuals.com/pdf/p4786273.pdf

Those instructions seem to say:
When connecting with slaves use three core cable connecting the live in, live out and trigger terminals as shown in Diagram 2.

Kind Regards, John
