I was just wondering how this is done when a single storey timber frame extension goes out from a cavity back wall of the existing house ie at right angles.

Do you chop a vertical dpc into the cavity?

Is the timber panel simply bolted to the wall or is there more to it than that? Like a vertical wallplate behind the panel and a dpc behind?

I have a wooden conservatory- obviously different to a proper extension.
But mine was added to the brick with a bead of mastic- no dpc- and frame fixers.
The roof has flashing cut into the wall

Think window frame instead of timber frame and it will be clear.

And yes a vDPC is required wherever an external wall becomes an internal wall timber frame or not.
