Hi,

I have just sown my first lawn (seeded just over 6 weeks ago) and gave it its first mow this weekend just gone and all looks pretty good. I plan now to leave it until spring (I assume further mowing at this time of the year would be a mistake?).

The lawn has covered the area quite well although there are some bald patches. There are also an awful lot of weeds that have come through with the grass.

I would assume that my best bet would be to put something down in the spring to control the weeds and then attack the bald patches with more seed next autumn?

If that is correct, what is the best sort of product to use in the spring and roughly when is the right time to apply? (I know most weed killing products say not to apply to lawns less than 6 months old, so is it just a case of making sure its had the full 6 months?).

I take it the come next autumn (appreciate I am looking ahead now) I wouldn't be able to do anything for the weeds if I was planning on adding more seed?

Thanks
