I have had to fit a new section of edging strip to my worktop.

I have fixed it with a small overhang on the bottom edge (perhaps a mistake) so I get a flush fitting on top.

What is the best/easiest way to trim the excess off please??

Thanks

A laminate trimmer is the easiest way. Failing that some of these

Caution: They look dangerous and indeed are dangerous to use as you pull them towards you.

Those blades can rip your face off and take great chunks out of the laminate edging strip if your not careful. I did use the blade when I did it but very very carefully. I would think the laminate trimmer would do a better job and it's not expensive. I have never tried a trimmer though.

I use a scalpel from the wrong side, score 2-3 times [brace from right side with a flat piece of timber] then snap over corner and finish with fine sand paper.
