PVC double glazing fitted a few years ago is humming / howling like crazy when the wind blows. Sounds like the house is haunted and can drown out the TV when the wind is strong. I've been told it's likely that the sealant needs redone where the PVC frame meets the wall.

The installer used decorators caulk on the inside and outside to seal and secure all the trim, and probably a cheap one at that. When I get a break in the weather, I'm planning on removing all the sealing inside and out and redoing it.

I'm debating if I can or should remove the trim (hopefully without damaging it) as well to see if there's any gaps needing filled with expanding foam. If so, do I need to remove trim from inside and out to check for gaps or is one side sufficient?

Lastly, what type of sealant is recommended for inside and out? I'd like to get this done correctly the first time.

Thanks!
