Most of the time we need to hit the reset button on our vaillant combi befroe we get hot water. It sounds as if it comes on and the temp gauge starts to go up, but the water only increase in temp by a few degrees. Once we hit the reset it works again. The temp gauge drops to the real temp and then starts to rise as it should.
This problem seems to be worse when the heating has been on before, but is now off, eg first thing in the moring. When the heating is on there are no problems getting hot water.
Anyone with a similar problem or suggestions.

Vaillant have been making combi boilers for a long time and we have no idea what model you have!

Without knowing the model it is difficult to guess what the problem is but it may be a faulty diverter valve if its an 824/828.

It affects most of them between 2-3 years.

The replacements have been modified with a rugby ball shape.
