Hydramax shower won't turn off

Hi, I've just replaced the cartridge and o ring as my concealed shower wouldn't turn off. Ive turned the water back on and it's still the same. It's not a little drip, there is a lot of pressure flowing. Any ideas please before the wife kills me. Thanks.

Did you replace the little O ring at the back? Very fiddly job.

Hi, yes I did. I held it in place with vaseline as suggested in the instruction book too.
