I Get Heat, but no hot water?

Hello everyone, any help on my present predicament will be much appreciated.

I have a Potterton Combi Lynx Electronic Boiler. GC No. 47590 02. Yes, I know it is getting a bit long in the tooth, however fourteen years down the line and it still runs like clock-work and quiet to boot, until now. I seem to be only getting hot water when the central heating is on. The boiler dose not fire independently when I only want hot water? All contributions welcome.

Many thanks for the advice Corgiman. Is there a special procedure that I should be expecting the boilerman to go through to find out this problem, and let them get on with it: Or will they be offended if I just tell them what you think it is?

Nope my boilers is fairly quiet.

if your lynx ever packs up you could give it to the people who put the xmas lights up in west end, it would prop do regents street, especially if you can get hot water and heating fired up at the same time
