What would work out cheaper, using solid timber joists for my loft conversion or using the engineered timber I-joists.

I need about 64 of them all about 4.5 meters long.

cheers

I don't really know but from what other people have commented to me it's not a huge difference in price between the two.

Worth considering if you have piping and such to do though, as I joists might save you time as they are easier to punch holes into the webbing, they will also shrink less which will help avoid creaky floors.

True, but it's recommended that holes in timber engineered joists should be preformed.

Ecojoist or Pozijoist have a steel lattice web where there is ample room to run services.
