I need to remove this old dried tile adhesive. Any tips?

I need to refix a tile that was never properly stuck to the wall. What did stick to the wall, though, was the adhesive and this is proving to be a complete bȗgger to shift. Any ideas as to a method for effective removal? I have already tried using a hammer chisel.
