My Old boiler has a non functioning Switchmaster 805 timer. I have looked into getting a new one but they are expensive.

Can anyone advise if there is an alternative item I can fit instead.

Any help with this is appreciated.

The Drayton Lifestyle LP112 is the closest match. But if you want more flexibility the LP241, LP522 and LP722 are also available. Unfortunately they do not fit the Switchmaster backplate.
