l now have a iphone and it's on O2 , can l get this unlocked so l can use my virgin sim card which l have on a monthly payment on ... Someone mentioned it has to be unlocked to do this... Can this be done and if so where would l be able to get this done and how much do you this it would cost to do...

Not sure about I phones, but some phones are not always locked.
Normal phones are unlocked for about 10 pound virtually anywhere even the local market.

afaict the unofficial ways of unlocking an iphone firstly require jailbreaking it first and secondly don't work with later versions of the radio firmware. Plus I could see them causing problems with future updates.
If you are eligible for an official unlock I don't think it's worth risking an unofficial one on something as valuable as an iphone.
