I'm starting to think that the main purpose of Brexit is to create a smokescreen so the government can get away with all the other crap going on.

Talk about Brexit, make more cuts.
People moan about state of the nation, say Brexit will fix it.
Repeat.

Writing this reminded me of a job i did about 14 years ago (not sure why exactly!). Working in banking sadministration, for years my boss blamed every error on a lack of automated systems. Company agreed to create an automated system and I was involved in testing it for about 2 years. During that whole time the boss was trying to disrupt it, saying it was not fit for purpose - because as soon as there was a multi-million automated system in place, that he had demanded, he would have to sack staff and then also be blamed when the next error inevitably occurred, either for approving the system or failing to use it properly. Boss better off with staff he can blame! System was scrapped after about 3 million wasted on it.

This probably happens a lot.
