obstructing aid to a severely wounded person

I suppose you might do that if you wanted the casualty to die.
Not at all, he wasn't known to them as a paramedic, he was just a random man on the street saying that he was. He may have done more harm than good. They rang 999 and an ambulance was on the scene within 5 mins. That is not obstructing medical aid
 
It's exactly what happened in my own first on scene experience with a guy..
with his skul poking through his forehead and his eye popped out of his head.
Yes he still had a weak pulse, but was not breathing. I was told not to attempt CPR by a medical professional (surgeon) who arrived seconds after. "These injuries are not compatible with life, let's get out of the road". made me feel a bit stupid at the time as I was trying to talk to him doing my DR ABC. for anyone else who's done the training.
