One of my rads had started to pull out the wall fixings, so before it could come fully off I turned off boiler, isolated the radiator, drained it, removed it and repaired the wall fittings, then put the radiator back on, all was fine up to here. Then open the feeds through the radiator and turned the bolier back on which is where hit a few problems.

I'd forgotten to bleed the rad first so Boiler made a few noises I'm guessing due to air in the system and p[ressure dropped to 0, so then bled the radiator, but some how pilot light went out on the boiler, not sure if this is connected or not!!

Basically don't know where the ignition switch is on this boiler, and if just relighting it will solve the problem, any help would be appreciated!!!

Since you have already noticed the system pressure has fallen to zero, I am surprised that you dont seem to have realised that thats the problem!

Increase the system pressure to 1.5 and relight the pilot and it will be working again! There will be a valve and a filling loop if its been properly installed!

Thanks, don't suppose you know where the ignition switch/dial is on this model for the pilot, previous owner of my house did a bit of DIY covering all pipes but has made it very difficult to get the cover off, so short of taking all his covering off i can just get behind the cover on the boiler but not remove it, may be that I have to do that but if the switch is in an easy to reach place would like to avoid that.

I am sorry, its quite probably that your boiler has not got a permanent pilot.

You dont say if you have increased the pressure?

The boiler may have over heated and operated a manual overheat trip which needs to be reset.

Tell us about the pressure!

Tony

I haven't increased the pressure yet as wasn't sure if it mattered what order I do things in as a novice at all this and wanted to check how to do this online before attempting it.

If it hasn't got a permanent pilot what will that mean?

Thanks

boiler needs to be re-pressurised to say 1bar make sure auto air vent above pump is open and re-set boiler by turning either dhw or c/h knobs .there is no pilot ignition is automatic after dhw is drawn it takes approx 3 mins for c/h to kick in . p.s filler loop is ext. to boiler usually under sink or below boiler

Thanks all, built the pressure up to just over 1 bar last night, and pilot then came on when I turned the heating and water on.
