the pump on my system seems to run continuosly - I have an ideal classic ff350 - the boiler also fires up even when the timer is set to off. one of the relays on the pcb had welded contacts so I changed the pcb but the pump still ran so I changed the timer as well but its still faulty - does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

One simple test is to see if one of the manual levers on the valves is 'loose' and easy to move by hand.

If it is then that will be the faulty one.

Could be they both feel 'stiff' though, then it will be a microswitch gone in one of them. A multimeter and a safe working knowledge of testing live electrics would be needed to ascertain which one was faulty then.
