It cant be adjusted on the cylinder stat if you dont have one. DIY has not really elaborated on his 'diagnosis'.
If you have no cyl stat then the boiler stat will determine your H/W Temp.... even on a fully pumped system DIY

thermo stat seems only to effect the temp when emersion used.any other suggestions.
there should be a stat on the side of the tank....not on the immersion!
If not reduce the stat on the front of the boiler.

Dont turn boiler stat down!!!
System is set to work at maximum on that stat 82 deg if system is balanced properly - its more than likely cylinder stat issue.....
