ideal esprit 30 he

Hi yall
I've had an esprit 30 he combi boiler for about a year now'
has always worked well but, has a disturbing habit of occasionaly lighting up with a small explosion (seriously!), makes us jump!. i was told it was 'the waste gasses igniting' and normal, never really bought that one.
any ideas? thanks in advance, simon.

sounds like ignition probe,usually bend with the heat
