ideal icos 15 hot water heating rads

good morning, so for about a week now my boiler started playing up when the water setting is selected it also heats up the radiators so a bit off a Google search most answers came up with a faulty 3 way port valve, so yesterday i purchased the new part and fitted it , all was great selected water and the rads stayed cold and water was heated until this morning i put water setting on and it went back to what it was doing heating radiators up, it was a brand new part fitted, any help would be appreciated as to what is going on

Did you change the whole valve including brass body ,or just the actuator ?

I assume the system worked correctly upto a few weeks ago ? If so ,before you fitted the new valve ,was anything changed on the system ,wiring , programmer,thermostat ?

a few weeks ago it all started and just the actuator was changed and again it worked for a few days that time and then went back to heating rads so i just started using the emersion to heat water but sods law this packef up yesterday so had no choice but to try and sort the boiler,, so this time changed complete unit but like say it hasnt worked

You will need to do some testing at the wiring centre . Do you have a multimeter ,and competent to work on live circuitry ?
When the radiators are heating ,whilst programmer is set for only Hot water , if you turn your wall thermostat down to zero ,do radiators then start to cool ?

yes have a meter and think im competent , il try that when get home in hour or so thanks

Would be helpful to show a picture of the wiring centres wiring / terminals.

hi home sooner than thought, turned water on and thermostat down but rads still get hot,, will post pic off wiring shortly

Going from left to right on terminal blocks ,terminal no 5 looks to have the white wire from MPV ( the 3 port valve) and one other wire ( looks like black ) is there any other wire in that terminal ?
If not measure voltage from that terminal to the Neutral terminal. Also from terminal 5 to earth .
And tell us what voltages are.
Programmer in hot water only mode.
And room stat turned up to 20 Deg.
