Ideal Icos HE24 Banging

Hi

Can anyone help

I have an Ideal Icos HE24 boiler thats just turned 5 years old. It has now developed a cannon like banging when the boiler fires up after about 30/40 sec. You hear a couple of explosions then its fine. The hot water and the heating both seem to be fine. It happens almost every time the boiler fires up and is getting worse.

I have checked the pressure in the system and its fine as well as all of the rads. No air in any of them.........

Any ideas please

sounds like a cannon going off !!!!!! several faults with this boiler regarding saftey get it looked at urgent

Have booked and Eng to come out but they can't make it for over a week.

Was hoping that it might have just been a valve or something!!!!

blocked sump or ignition electrode

as said above most likely a blocked condense sump or pipe. have you got external pipework which has frozen? easy to sort out if you have a hairdryer, just warm the pipe.
