Help please! Ideal Icos HE24, Drayton +3RF wireless thermostat and SCR, Megaflow Cl170HE.

In a nutshell, the heating works fine all day, and then around 4.00pm the thermo calls for heat, the SCR is responding with the usual green LED but nothing happens. It takes until about 9.00pm before it starts to work normally again.

There are no error messages or red lights, no weird noises, nowt! It suggests a boiler / tank /thermostat /pump sticking or cutout issue but it beats me.

I have replaced the wireless room thermostat, and tried all the reset, shut down and other obvious remedies but it just won't start again until it's ready.

Help much appreciated

Thanks

Geoff

Good chance its the receiver thats at fault. If the receiver has the green light on and nowts happening then ideally you need to check the switch live to the CH valve for 240V. Alternatively, when it playing up switch off power, remove the receiver from the back plate and wire a link between live & CH on. This will prove whether the receive is at fault or not.

Ive had many drayton receivers fail this winter.

Can you change yer heading to wireless receiver fault please as its misleading as your boiler is ok. As you have hw so its a control fault not a boiler fault

For a change :?

I think you may be on to something. I just replaced the front part of the receiver with the new one that came with the Stat (I was being lazy and thought the old reciever was OK ) The overide worked straight away when I pressed it, and now it's paired up, so far so good! Will I get away with just replacing the front bit, or should I replace the back plate and rewire it as well??

The acid test is in the next couple of hours when it has been going off for the last few days. I'll confirm later that it has worked.

You are however a Prince amongst men whatever happens :o))
