I have an ideal mexico he36. I have just carried out a power flush on the whole system which was a complete mess, needed to remove pipework to get some of the blockages out.

Anyway i went to turn the boiler on after i was finished flushing and it was only sparking a couple of times, fan was running and then would stop trying to spark and it left fan running and after 2 mins cycled again to try and light and same thing till it locked out with F L code. I orderd an ignition electrode and ignition lead to see if that was the problem but when i tried to start it today before even changing those parts i was getting a HF code instantly as soon as the boiler recieves power. Could this be the spark generator?

I wanted to see what others think it could be before i order anymore parts.

List of parts changed so far includes: New pump, New pcb, Overheat thermostat kit and thermistor boiler control kit.

Thanks

If you’re an engineer register your gas safe details and ask in the gas engineers section, otherwise you’ll be hard pushed to get a diy answer for a gas related query on any public forum.

Hi thanks for your response i wasn't aware that this would be considered a gas related query. I will seek a local gas registered engineer to investigate this for me then. Thanks

Turns out it was the burner that was dirty and needed cleaning. Gas wasn't able to burn evenly. Was cleaned and now works fine.
