idiot with man hole cover

I left for work yesterday started the van and bang! the van broke the cast man hole cover.
"fook" so took the measurements' later that day I picked up a new one almost the same size comes lid and frame complete.

When I get home I get the crow bar and prise the old frame out along with tarmack and other messy bits only to find out the new one fits frame and lid in the old frame

Now got to patch up the tarmac.
