If you remove a worktop does it mean retiling?

Want to have worktop in kitchen and bathroom removed and replaced. Both have tiles right to edge of worktop. Will this mean a re-tiling job as tiles will most likely be damaged if worktops removed?

Thanks

think you answered your own question there fella, unless you like your lovely new work surface surrounded with broken tiles, you'll probably need to restore.

a decent tradesman will have installed your kitchen worktop and tiled splashback with this problem in mind and left a 5mm gap below the bottom tile filled with flexible adhesive.

If your changing worktop thickness though it wont matter.
