Hi, could I ask if someone has come across the wiring diagram below, need to upgrade the immersion timer as old one was unsafe.

I just want to make sure the appliance (immersion) goes on the right side of the timer.

If anyone could highlight the correct sequence i would be very greatful

Thanks in advance

maybe im seing it wrong, but i would NOT connect Earth to the Nc contact, apart from that the L in and out and the N look straightforward

Hi, thanks for the reply, so would you put the earths into a block connector?

Just to clarify then, would both neurals mains and Immersion go into - U1

mains supply into - Com Live

Immersion live into - live out

and what would NC connect too (if anything)?

Thanks

No definitely shouldn't connect Earth to NC.

Looking at the terminal SCREWS the connections will be reversed so:

1 - empty
2 - Live to Immersion
3 - empty
4 - Live supply
5 - Both Neutral wires.

Connect the two CPCs (earth wires) in a separate connector block and position safely.

The quality of that item seems to be a bit dubious

The label is upside down so the manufacturer's quality control seems to be a bit lax. If the same ( lack of ) quality control is applied to the internals then the unit could be at best un-reliable.

Hi, thank you for the quick replies, i will try the connection method as per EFLImpudence and 333rocky333
the actual face of the unit (not shown in pic) does relate to the sticker (so not upside down) but agreed probably are much better units to be had.

Thanks again

No definitely shouldn't connect Earth to NC.
As you (and others) say, that has to be the advice, since if NC means 'normally closed' (which is the most obvious meaning), to connect it to earth would obviously be disastrous.

However, I suppose it might possibly mean 'no (internal) connection'. The diagram on the label shows only 1-pole 1-way switching, so it's possible that there is not a 'normally closed' contact.

However, that doesn't alter the advice we have to give.

Kind Regards, John

On the base ensure that the two linked together pins will once plugged in connect the live supply cable in the com terminal to the empty U2 terminal before plugging in.
Any other combo could be disastouros or cause the immersion load to be permanently on

This is to supply the contacts as well as the supply to the clock moter

Thanks folks, I really appreciate the advice, going to finish the install tomorrow, everything prepped, backplate mounted, mains off!

Will triple check above again before final install.

:)
