I wonder if anybody can help?

We're coming to the end of a rebuild and looking at appliances. in price checking I stumbled across German sites and realised the pricing for apparently identical Bosch series 8 ovens is about a third cheaper when importing from Germany, even allowing for shipping.

The uk models all have "b" on the end of the model number - but spec appears to be identical.

We're looking at a built in compact and normal size oven. Should importing ovens in this way be ok or are we likely to face problems?

thanks,
dan

It will probably expect a 3 phase supply. I know this is standard in German houses for ovens.

It might be possible to connect it to a single phase supply by fitting some links internally but you should obviously find out for certain first as I am no expert.

You should be able to find the installation instructions online but I remember when I ordered our (UK spec) Neff oven and hob I looked at the instructions to try to find out what size cables to run to the consumer unit and they didn't tell me anything. I had to wait until they arrived before finding the wiring instructions were on a label on the appliance. I presume this is because it's the same manual for all the different versions they make for each country.
