Impossible to fit garden hose to tap!

Hi

Attached are images of our garden tap. (About five years old?)

Whatever combination of Hozelock attachments I use, nothing sticks and water pours out from the tap. Do I need a new tap or new hose?

Depends on where the water is escaping from. The yellow connector in your pic that has a white reducer attached ( which should be removed) should have a rubber seal that seals against the tap ,is it leaking from that connection ?
If it isn't ,but leaks from the hose pipe connection to the fitting( the one at the top of your pic of fittings),then the hose is suspect ,or the fitting itself is.

Thanks for response. The leakage is where the connector fits (doesn’t) to tap. I’ve added two more photos, with reducer attached and not attached to the yellow connector. Either way, as soon as you apply any pressure, water spews out and connector detaches from tap.

Does the yellow connector screw up fully / tightly onto the tap ?
If it's flying off the tap ,it sounds like it's not fully screwed up ,or the threads are not compatible.
Compare the thread patterns.

Try YouTube for video? Can you show a photo with connector attached before you run any water?

Yellow Tap connector minus white reducer should fit onto the tap, and tighten up hand tight to form a water tight seal. If it doesn't, you may have cross threaded it, (should screw on with relative ease.) Any Bib Tap of that age should be a standard thread compatible with all modern Hose fittings.
