F&E tank is constantly overflowing, thru backing up the cold feed. The cylinder has been replaced in case it was the coil.Could anybody throw some light on probable cause. Is it possible that the F&E tank is now man enough to cope with the expansion?,systems been in approx 15 years.
Thanks for any input

First guess is that pipework is sludged up - drain and use de-sludger according to instructions.

If it backs up the cold feed, the tank ain't big enough. New cylinder; therefore coil OK.
Does it pump over (through the open vent-has it got an open vent?)
What's the water like in the header tank? Brown? Black? Clean-ish?

seco - That's what I thought. It's only to feed an already full system and allow for expansion after all

thats right the water don't know what size the tank is.

backing up cold feed is useally coil but not in this case or blocked vent pipe.
