Indesit Dishwasher stuck on cycle

I have an indesit dfg 15b1 dishwasher that is getting stuck part way through a cycle. The pre wash cycle is the only one which works, anything else the dishwasher just seems to fill up, spin / recycle and heat water but not completing. Once I switch the dishwasher off at the front the dishwasher drains fine and water hot. Anything I can try?
