indesit idl530 dishwasher makes low growling noise..help plz

I have 2 indesit idl 530 dishwashers.
They both have the same fault and are both out of guarrantee.

When I switch on all you get is a low growling noise, which sounds like a pump. Nothing happens no water going in, nothing, just the growling noise.
Is it something I can fix myself, do you think??
I'm quite handy and would quite like to have one dishwasher working again!

Put wellington boots on and tip it forward see any water come out. ?
