indesit washing machine not spinning/draining

Hi, my Indesit has been a bit noisy on spin, but last night was so thunderous i had to switch it off. I switched back on and it finished the cycle.
Today it washed, made a noise as if to spin but didn't go any further.
I switched off and tried spin alone, but nothing, the drum i can turn by hand.
Its over 7/8 yrs old so maybe not cost effective to repair? The lights flicker sometimes so dont know if the circuit board is on its way out, or gone?

Could be the carbon brushes need replacing in the motor ,very likely worn down after 7/8 years.
Is the drum still full of water ?

No water in the drum, just a sodden (and I don't think washed) pile of clothes!
