Indesit wd 12 broken door handle

In a fit of overeagerness i managed to try and open the door before it was unlocked and pulled the handle right off. Through a previous thread of conversation i found a replacement part but was wondering if there is a way to open the machine and retrieve my wet clothing! There are no other problems with the machine, just a snapped off handle. Its a Indesit WD12 washer dryer. Is the part easy to replace?

Unplug the machine, take off the lid, reach in from the top to the doorswitch, use a small screwdriver to lever the door catch to the left, where it pokes through the doorswitch. You need to look carefully at the remains of the old handle assembly to check the positions of any springs before dismantling.
