I've got a ten-year old Indesit WDG1095W and it has stopped turning. It goes through the rest of the cycle as per usual - Fills, Drains etc., but does not turn or spin.

It doesn't look like the brushes are worn, and there is continuity from the brush connector to the end of each brush, though not from one brush connector to the other (on a 20KOhm setting).

I am assuming from this that the motor winding has gone and that it is time for the washing machine to be put out to stud. Before I do, is there any last check I should maybe carry out for a potential simple fix ??

Ah well - Kind of expecting that was the case. Not really worth mending, given its age.....

Check the motor controller pcb. Older Indesits had a fuse in them.
