I have a problem that the door catch broke on my indesit wia 121 washing machine, i managed to fix the door catch but it wont lock, the lock on the machine moves back and forth with my fingers, if i push the lock to the right, the machine will fill up with the door open, but if i push it to the left and close the door, it will not lock the door shut, your help and expertise is greatly appreciated.....

Fault description is very vague but it sounds like the door interlock is broken. If you push it right it should stay there and you shouldn't be able to push it left, even after the thermal lock releases it. You should have to push it slightly right again for it to spring back and allow it to open.
