Indesit WN850WG Washing machine stops intermittantly.

Hi,

My washing machine (an Indesit WN850WG) has started playing up recently. I have moved it and now it only has a cold water supply (previously it had had both hot and cold). Now occasionally (although it's getting more frequent) it just stops and just rinses continuously. Water seems to be going in and straight out all the time. Usually clicking the dial on a single click will give it enough encouragement to finish. It only used to happen on 'extra rinsing' or on 'conditioning' cycles, but tonight it 'got stuck' at the start of a 60 dergree wash. Any ideas?

The drain pipe is to low or pushed to far down inside the stand pipe.
The end of the grey outlet pipe must be higher than the full machine's water level so water has to be actually pumped up and out, and an air brake ( a gap between outlet pipe and the stand pipe internal wall)

Thanks for the reply drivewasher.
Will it be enough to make sure that the 'bend' in the outlet pipe is higher up (currently it's about 1/3 of the way up the machine) or does the end itself have to be higher? Currently it drains straight into the main drain, so the end will have to stay lower than the washing machine, but I could move the 'bend' so it was higher and still leave the end in the drain.

Forget the bend on the pipe, you can take the pre formed bend off and throw it away, it's really for going over a sink but it's also to stop you pushing the outlet end of the drain hose to far down the standpipe, which is in effect what you have done exept it sounds to me like you haven't got a standpipe and the end of the outlet hose is lower than half way up the machine, IE: lower than the water level in full machine

Lift the pipe end out of the drain, get a lenght of 1&1/2 inch plastc waste tube and stand the tube up vertically about 30" on top of the drain your'e going into (just tie it up temporary with string ) then pop 6 or 7 inch of the end of drain hose into plastic waste, now when machine pumps it pumps water over the top of plastic waste, when pump stops the water should stop
