Hi, Our washer is located in a utility room at the rear of the garage. Due to the cold weather the pipes supplying the machine or the pipes inside machine have frozen preventing the washer from working. This has happened before and has then worked again once the temperature has risen. However this time when it had frozen the water struggled to run through the machine. Also water is coming out from the underneath of the machine. Does it sound like a split pipe inside the machine any ideas?

Check the inlet hose at the rear and the water inlet solenoid valve,

Remove the top to do this, quite common for valve to split when frozen.

Yes it looks like there is a small crack on the inlet valve. It has a hot and cold supply but i think? it only uses the cold. Have taken off the wiring conections, will i need to remove the soap tray completely or just clip the top off so I can remove the part?

Depends how nimble you are and how much fiddling about you can do, the valves on most of these are combined units (have to replace both).

Sometimes I can do in situ but most of time I remove the soap dispensor (saves fingers) 'I am assuming it is of the type with the valves fitted onto and below the soap dispensor'

Managed to get the solenoid out without taking out despenser. New part coming tomorow. Just hope it works alright.
Thanks for the advice...
