Sir I need a saw that I can carry to the bush to fell logs and after use it saw them into planks or other smaller pieces what do you recommend.

A bow saw will cut up logs,

but to make planks you will need a big circular saw (not a hand-held one). Not really practical for the DIY user. It can be done by hand but is very slow and hard work. The saw that used to be used (before my time) would be a 2-man saw several metres long.

Chainsaw with both crosscut and ripping blades, Husqvarna make a backpack that will take saw, fuel etc.

Do a search for "chainsaw mills" as these will make it easier to cut your butts into boards.

Hope thats for legal logging
