Hi: has anyone found a way of removing burned on soot from inside a red brick fireplace, short of grinding or sandblasting.
Surely there's a solvent out there somewhere. Hydrochloric acid brick cleaner doesn't work too well.
Ebay offers several products such as 'Calfire', 'Hotspot', and 'Halo'. Is anyone familar with these?
