The inlet to our electrical shower has two pipes (hot/cold) coming from a small (part metal ?) box attached to the wall. However, a leak developed at the side of the box and actually this has grown to be a relatively large hole in the wall of the box resulting in water streaming out.
I’m not sure of the exact purpose of this box but presume it couples the pipes coming through the wall to those going into the shower, i.e. that it provides a 90 degree angle. The problem is that the box cannot be moved or budged whatsoever. Therefore, I have not been able to remove this to e.g. replace it by another box.
I’m thinking of actually cutting the box open to try to remove it by taking it apart (or get a big hammer...). However, as I’m not sure of the exact function, mechanics and coupling of the box, I’m a bit reluctant.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
