What do you mean inhibitor?

Do you mean a filter?

In that case, Magnaclean, TF1, or Spirotech MB3.

All are fine and have their own sets of pros and cons. I prefer the Magnaclean.

I think the OP wants an in-line scale inhibitor, hence the title: inline mains inhibitor.

If you feel the need to fit one - most of the pros on here will probably say "don't bother, they're useless" - you want an electrolytic one. Scalemaster, Liff and Salamander do them. Available in compression and push-fit.

Sorry... moderate hang over - wasn't paying attention....

Yes the magnetic/ wrap around ones are indeed snake oil.

Salt softener of Polyphosphate jobby from the likes of Fernox.

thanks the electrolitic type seems to be the way to go, ive been doing a little research since posting this and have found a product which involves wrapping two coils of wire around the pipe then into a unit powered by the mains im not sure i should mention product brand on here but its around £139 was wondering if anyone knows if these are anygood as no plumbing is required

ok thanks thats answered that one, ill go with the the electrolytic type.
cheers

I just told you they don't do anything.

-Doctor doctor, my arm is falling off.

-Ok, sir I wouldn't advise playing cricket this weekend. Come back Monday and we'll stitch it back on.

-Ok Doctor, but I am playing Badminton on Monday, can I see you Tuesday?

No, it is getting worse.

Bacon sarny is required.... Along with another pint of tea.

Gotta do some estimates this afternoon. Can't be grumpy when doing those. They get expensive then.
