Hi everyone,

I got a pizza oven I'd like to modify.

I would like to insert a window in the door so that I am able to check the pizza while it's cooking.

The inside temperature can go up to 1300°F / 700° C and the end product would ideally allow little to no heat loss.

I am gathering information on the process, trying to think about the main steps.

Has anyone here done something similar?

If this was in the UK, you'd have to comply with all workplace safety regulations and DIY-ing a major alteration to an appliance would be almost impossible to certify to comply.

I suspect that getting a however-many-layers of heat-resistant glass cut to size and framed as a one-off item is going to cost far more than selling that oven second-hand and buying a second-hand one with a window.

You could always try opening the door and taking a peek, pizza is not sensitive to a tiny heat loss.

I guess you're right, but where is your taste of adventure? who does things only when it makes sense economicaly
