Hello All URGENT
In the process of fitting a combi boiler all water tanks needing to be removed. At present the existing boiler is a floor standing thorn boiler.
The replacement combi wall mounted boiler will be put in the same position. Is this OK as the combi wall mounted boiler will only be 7 inches from the kitchen floor. One plumber said it would be ok another plumber said that there is a possibility of the sludge building up.
Thanks :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Its not so much sludge but access to install and maintain the boiler.

The manufacturer has minimum clearances which should be observed otherwise some maintenance/repairs are not possible.

Incorrect clearances will often invalidate the warrantee.

Are you saying access to the boiler from underneath the boiler??
To get to the boiler would not be a problem as the boiler is situated in the
fire place, with a mantel piece over it, it is not in a cupboard. Do you now
the requirements for vallient??? thanks

You need 180mm off the bottom, and 165mm off the top edge (horizontal flue version). If this isn't available you can't legitimately fit it.

The sludge comment is a nonsense.
