Hi,
I have a Gas hob, want to replace it with a Ceramic hob - I know I need the Gas supply shutting off by a certified bod when its removed. But I am not sure about the power supply. Currently I have a Electric oven on its own 32 AMp 6mm dedicated circuit in to the fuse board via an insulator switch above the work top, all thats feeding the exisiting gas hob is 2.5mm T&E for the ignition. So I need if I can share the Oven supply!
Answers would be appreciated!!
Thanks

KT

Probably not - but how powerful will the new hob be? They're normally more powerful than ovens.

It may be possible that you can run the oven on the old ignition supply and the hob on the 32A supply. It depends on the charateristics of the ignition supply.

But first, you need to know the power of both the oven and the hob.

Seems very high for oven feed I would have expected some fusing down of the supply

It is common to share a supply for oven and hob but normally the oven supply would be reduced with a fused connection unit. And much also depends on the size and type of ceramic hob.

There are three basic types of ceramic hobs and each one has a range of different sizes the information you have given is not really enough to answer question.
