I have a static caravan next to our septic tank which is brick built with 4 concrete slabs for the top. I cannot find any information about installing the foul drainage i.e. what materials I need, degree of fall from pipe and whether I need flexible pipe etc. I have just been left in the lurch after separating from my husband being left with a part built extension and what looks like a bombsite. I am determined to carry on, so any advice will be useful. Many Thanks

You need 110mm underground pipe, such as this: http://www.screwfix.com/prods/14129...nage/Underground-Drainage-Pipe-2x3m-Pack-of-2 The Screwfix site also shows the other components available to give you an idea of what you may need.

Fall about 1:40 as a rule of thumb, bed pipes in peagravel, for protection, and you need to make sure all pipework is accessible in the event of a blockage. Usually achieved by fitting an inspection chamber at each change of direction in the drain. (Flexible pipes are no good for foul drainage.)

All good advice , but if it`s just for the `van while you do work on the house - you won`t need to worry about manholes ( expensive ) just get fittings with cleaning eyes - Make sure the drain goes up to vent in air above van roof
