Hi,

I wonder if somebody may be able to help!

We want to replace a 2100mm wide window with a set of french doors that are 2390mm wide. The 'soldier bricks' above the window obviously only run the width of the current window. Is it possible to extend these 'soldier bricks' or do they play an integral part in the structure of the house!?

Don't worry, I won't be carrying out any of this work!!

Thanks,
Chris

The soldiers dont but the lintel behind them does & widening the opening will require proping, the old lintel removed (good luck if it's cast in situ concrete as mine was!), new lintel installed & the soldiers replaced - if thats what you want.
