Presently have forced air heating and want to install radiators. British Gas want to install boiler on wall or loose a cupboard. Would prefer not to have one on wall as unsightly. Have had another quote to install a Villant 828 with a vertical flue kit and integral time, which would be fitted where the old boiler was. The flue has to go from ground floor up through apex roof. Gas salesman said this would not work well has it has so far to go. Any comments on this, your advice is very welcome. Thanks Anne :?:

The maximum flue length for a vertical flue system on a Vaillant ecoMAX 828 boiler is:

10.0m (32 ft) using the Standard Concentric System (60/100mm)

29.0m (95 ft) using the Optional Concentric System (80/125mm)

NB The 10.0m length has to be reduced by 1.0m for each addition 90° elbow and by 0.5m for each additional 45° elbow. The 29.0m length has to be reduced by 2.5m for each addition 90° elbow and by 1.0m for each additional 45° elbow.

For more details, download the Installation and Servicing Instructions for the boiler, and the Flue Installation Instructions from the literature section of the manufacturer's web-site: here

Thanks so much for the info, gives me a far better understanding. Anne
