Hi,
I am having a new kitchen installed and have been told I need an RCD installed and to move 2 plug sockets (only by about 30cm in total). I admit to knowing nothing about electrics and have no idea what this would entail (more regarding the RCD). Is this a simple job, and approximately how much should this job cost to get someone in?

Any advice would be gratefully received. :D
Many thanks
Pippa

An RCD is a protective device that could save your life if a fault occurs within the fixed wiring it protects or a faulty appliance is plugged in. A good idea for kitchens where water and electricity are in close contact.
The best way to acheve RCD protection will be to install a new fusebox with the RCD built in to protect the selected circuits.
