Hi All,

Is it a wise idea/option to be installing the unvented cylinder and boiler in the loft area ? I am considering this to save space in the living area. I am hearing mixed reviews about this setup.

Do I need to be aware of anything other than the fact that if there is a leak its going to mess up the ceiling ?

It's fine. You need to have a decent fixed loft ladder and boarded access to both for maintenance, plus a decent light of course
Theres a lot to consider before the purchase.
The tank has to fit through the loft hatch.
The loft has to be easily assessable.
The floor would be boarded out.
The floor has to capable of withstanding the weight of the full tank say tank at 30KG + water 250Lt = 280KG.
The boiler flue would go out through the tiles/roof.
The tundish would need a audible warning device to warn you of a problem with the cylinder.
The water from the discharge pipe cant go straight in to the gutter or down pipe.
