Hi,

I need to install a VEKA standard patio door (H: 232cm / W: 185cm) with low profile aluminium threshold.

Please can check my understanding of the key steps and hopefully identify any obvious errors before I make them:

==============

1. Dry fit 10-20mm back from brick face (think there may be a single brick 5mm out of reasonable plumb so assume either re-bed it or trim frame edging if 10mm tolerance compromised).

2. Markup position and remove beads, jamb trims, etc.

3. Fit cill - silicone bed, pack and level as necessary, fix with 7.5 x 82mm frame fixings at approx. 200mm from edge and 600mm centres (4 fixings).

4. Loose fit frame, wedge and adjust for plumb.

5. Fix frame using 7.5mm x 112mm frame fixings. Drill 4mm pilot in frame for each fixing, widen 6mm, through with 6mm SDS (Q. then increase frame hole to 8mm to avoid any distortion and countersink?)

6. Fix bottom fixing on each jamb at 150-200mm from corner but not tighten fully to allow for frame adjustment and frame packing.

7. Re-check still plumb, etc, then add top fixings, then remaining fixings at 600mm centres (6 fixings each side).

8. Screw threshold to cill with 45mm pan head screws (No.10?) at same spacing as other frame fixings (4 fixings to cill).

9. [Header is adjacent to wood panelled porch roof, assume fix with suitable wood screws at same spacing as jambs / cill to give basic fixing].

10. Final club check and tighten all fixings, check no distortion, fit jamb trims, etc, and check door slides / closes correctly.

11. Fix bridge packers (2 per side at 225mm from corner) and install glazing.

12. Add 32mm flat packers to fix / secure glazing in centre of window (add a little silicone on side jamb packers to prevent movement).

13. Check 28mm glazing units sat correctly on packers.

14. Add top / bottom beads and side beads starting at corner of each bead.

15. Final check on door operation and adjustment.

16. Foam (if possible) and silicone seal frame to surrounding.

==============

Is there anything obvious I've missed or any things to remember based on experience?

Appreciate any input - apologies if its a bit of a noddy list.

Many thanks,

Damian
