Today two what I thought as faults, turned out to be a feature I was unaware existed. One was with Nest thermostat, seems it has an anti-legionnaires function that switched on boiler to ensure water over 60°C once every 48 hours if boiler has run less than 3 hours.

And the second was my battery charger will only switch completely off if set to battery under 20 Ah.

It seems instructions are full of useless information, like switch off mains when battery operated, or misses vital information.

Also the name or phrase, seems Nest calls volt free, dry contact, and in a lot of their paperwork what we call a boiler they call a furnace, OK maybe a better name as we don't want the unit to actually boil water, but not the name we are use to hearing.
